About Me

The Beginnings
Why, hello there. My name is Kat, and I run KatScans, which is a solo venture!

I love, love manga/manhua/manhwa (from here on out, I'll just refer to it as manga, unless I mean a specific language!). I've been reading it for ages, and then sometimes, I stumble across manhuas that I like, but aren't ever translated. And I figure, why not put my Chinese education to use? Kabam! KatScans is born.

Regarding Complainers
Just to let you know, I am mostly a very friendly person. I'm doing this for your sake. Or else, I could just read the manhua by myself and be selfish >D. However, I don't. I spend hours and hours of my time (which technically should be better spent on other things uh...) translating and editing. Now, I really don't ask for much. I ask for your reading (obviously), your support, and some credit for my work. You are free to give me constructive criticisms, but if I ever see anyone whining or bashing, I will be undoubtedly rude to him/her.

Rules
I know I stated rules in the first post, but just to be extra clear:

1. Distribution: Feel free to post my chapters on manga-sharing sites! However, I do ask that you do not alter the files in any way, and do not remove any files (credit). Please contact me if you have any questions!

2. My translations are public. I post them on my blog and make them available to anyone. You should never have to pay for any of them. If you see them posted on a site that asks you for money to read, DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THEM, and also contact me immediately!

3. Again, I don't like seeing whiners, or complainers. If you're going to complain about the speed of releases, why don't you try translating/editing chapters by yourself? If you a legitimate complaint about quality, please, do not hesitate to contact me, but please make sure you do it in a constructive fashion that will HELP me, and not just annoy me.

About Kat!
My, so you really do want to know about me? Well, there's not much to say. I'm a rather intellectual teenager. In case you want to know, I am an ethnically Chinese American, so I guess my American-ness has put limits on my Chinese reading abilities haha. I love reading and writing and music (and arts in general). And biking. I love biking :) but I spend an inordinate amount of time on the computer. Maybe this is why I wear glasses... hmm.

But I also love manga a lot. My favorite genres are shoujo, josei, gender bender, and tragedy (they're good!). My favorite manga of ALL time is definitely "Omae ga Sekai o Kowashitai Nara" (or "If You Want to Destroy the World" aka "Vampire Girl"). This manga is sheer GENIUS. I find it to be deeper than a simple romance, there's a metaphysical twist, and I love it to bits. But that's more of an exception than the rule. Otherwise, I like Skip Beat! (first manga I ever read :D), 100% Perfect Girl, Can't Lose You, Beauty Pop, Wallflower, Tokyo Crazy Paradise, Paradise Kiss, and Shinshi Doumei Cross.

I speak English, Chinese, and Spanish (more or less fluently). If it were absolutely necessary, I might be able to write very poor French. VERY poor.
